DRIS+ project for enhancing the Directory of Research Information Systems

Mon, 23/03/2020 - 13:53 -- euroCRIS Secret...
The just-released DRIS map is part of the DRIS enhancements planned for the DRIS+ project that OpenAIRE has agreed to fund within their Open Innovation Call.
The end-goal of the DRIS+ project is to implement a REST API on top of the directory in order to allow the automated retrieval of metadata for the DRIS records. This is expected to simplify the process for CRIS harvesting and validation as certified data providers by OpenAIRE, but also to allow snapshots to be eventually collected for a specific national CRIS landscape.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        We look forward to working with the international RIM community for the purpose of collecting as comprehensive as possible a 'photograph' of the available CRIS infrastructure worldwide. Please use the online DRIS form to provide data for any missing CRIS system you would wish to see added to the directory.

DRIS map released

Fri, 20/03/2020 - 11:52 -- euroCRIS Secret...
The geolocation feature has now been added to the CRIS records held in our Directory of Research Information Systems (DRIS).
As announced in an end-of-Jan post, the DRIS map has now been released and is available at the DRIS homepage. If on that Jan 31st 2020 post 470 DRIS entries were reported, the directory already contained 637 records upon the release of the DRIS map on Mar 19th. This release comes together with an invitation to our members and the wider RIM community to send us the details of any missing systems via the online DRIS form.

Online form for DRIS data delivery

Fri, 31/01/2020 - 17:12 -- euroCRIS Secret...
An online form is now available for institutions interested in delivering the minimally sufficient metadata for their CRIS system to be able to directly do so from our website without needing to email us.
The submissions will be quickly validated and added to the DRIS. Any new DRIS record will also feature on the DRIS map we're currently working on.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      For more comprehensive DRIS submissions, i.e. those exceeding the minimally sufficient metadata, the euroCRIS email remains the best way to send them to us.

Introducing the CERIF refactoring project

Fri, 31/01/2020 - 13:56 -- euroCRIS Secret...
This internal euroCRIS project is an initiative to refactor the current CERIF structure along with the processes for extending or building associated software or extensions.
The main project aim is to decentralise the work on the standard and tools so that besides our CERIF Task Group, different communities of interest or practice are also able to work independently on top of the core technology and models provided by CERIF. The project envisions the creation of a CERIF Technical Committee (TC) composed of members of the research information management community with a strong technical profile.
